As part of ongoing efforts to protect your personal and financial information, Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is now required for access to certain digital services. that HFCU provides.

MFA helps keep your accounts safer from fraud and gives you greater control over your financial security. MFA stands for Multi-Factor Authentication. It’s an extra layer of security - like getting a text, call, or email to confirm your identity when logging in to your online/digital accounts.

Why is MFA important?

MFA adds an extra layer of protection against identity theft and fraud. Even if someone is able to get your password or other login information, MFA helps stop them from accessing your account.

Is MFA required?

Yes. MFA is required as of November 1, 2025 to ensure we are keeping your accounts safe and secure when signing into online/mobile banking.

Can I turn MFA off?

No. MFA is a required part of our security protocols to help keep your account and your money safe.

How can I update my contact information?

You can update your contact information through online/mobile banking, by calling us at 845-561-5607 or stopping into your local branch.

When will I need to use MFA?

You’ll be prompted to verify your identity when: • Logging into online banking or our mobile app • Accessing your account from a new device • Performing certain high-risk transactions (like changing your contact info)
