• The applicant MUST be a member in good standing of HFCU.
• The member is a college-bound high school senior at the time of application.
• The member is attending college for the first time in the fall of 2025.
• The member will be enrolled in either a two or four year accredited educational institution.
• The member agrees to use any scholarship funds awarded by January 31, 2026, at an accredited educational institution only.

1. Download the Scholarship Application.
2. Once the application is completed, please call or stop by a branch and ask for the HFCU credit union verification code.
3. Follow the application process detailed in the next section and on the NYCUA website.

January 17th, 2025: Deadline for students to submit applications

June 2025: HFCU will notify the winners via email and award the scholarships. 

1. Save and complete the 2025 Scholarship Application (781 KB).

2. Call HFCU at 845.561.5607 to obtain our Credit Union Verification Code to verify your eligibility.

3. Have your parent or guardian complete the Certification and Release Authorization on the last page of the application.

4. Please save your: Scholarship Application, High School Transcript and Essay as 3 separate documents (PDF or Word Doc) Google docs will not be accepted.

5. Select Heritage Financial CU to submit your application. 

6. You must complete all of the required information and upload all of the required documents BEFORE clicking save. Once you click save, you will not be able to go back and add or edit your submission.

7. Please fill out your name and email address for both the "Nominee" and "Nominated By" sections.

8. Please disregard the Reasons for Nomination section.

9. When your application has been successfully submitted, you will see the message "Nomination successfully saved."

Please read through the instructions carefully! If any portion of the application is missing or incomplete, the application will NOT be considered.

**Please note: If you are submitting an application through more than one credit union, you will need to complete the process for each individual credit union.**

• If a student was planning on playing spring or fall sports, they can include that on their application.
