HFCU Volunteers
Serving HFCU Members and Communities
Why Volunteer?
As a Credit Union, HFCU is a not-for-profit financial institution. So, we operate a little differently. We are overseen by a board that is comprised of volunteers, are owned by our members and are here to serve communities in our field of membership.
1. Helps Others and Strengthens Communities: It builds stronger, more connected communities by bringing people together for a shared purpose.
2. Builds Skills and Experience: Volunteers often gain valuable skills such as communication, leadership, teamwork, and problem-solving.
3. Boosts Mental and Emotional Health: Helping others has been shown to reduce stress, increase feelings of happiness and purpose and can give a sense of accomplishment and a deeper meaning to your life.
4. Creates Social Connections: Volunteering allows you to meet new people and expand your social and professional network.
5. Inspires Civic Responsibility: It helps you become more aware of local or global issues and encourages active participation in solutions.
Volunteering is a powerful way to make a difference in the world and in your own life. It’s not just about giving time—it’s about creating positive change.
