Karen Garrera serves as Chief Banking Officer at Heritage Financial Credit Union, providing strategic leadership and oversight for Community Development, Marketing, Member Experience, and Retail operations. With more than 30 years of experience in community banking, including executive leadership roles with Lakeland Bank and Provident Bank, Karen brings extensive expertise in member service, organizational growth, and building strong community connections.
Recognized for her commitment to service excellence and creating meaningful financial experiences, Karen has a proven track record of strengthening relationships, enhancing operational performance, and advancing initiatives that positively impact members and the communities served. She is a graduate of the Stonier Graduate School of Banking and holds a leadership certificate from the Wharton School. Outside of work, Karen enjoys vacationing in Long Beach Island, spending time with family and friends, and making memories with her dog.
